After several starts and stops–and a holiday in between–I finally finished the painting that I started during my family watercolor fest. As per our challenge, I plan on adding ink details, but I like this painting so much as is that I wanted to share it with my readers–and save a copy for myself. Here’s a close-up view:
Tulip Field in Watercolor

It’s a lovely painting.
Thank you, Pat. I’m pleased with the way the painting turned out.
It’s lovely, but I have full faith that the ink details will be exquisite. Can’t wait to see what you do, Jill.
Thank you, Gabriel. Ever the careful artist, I printed out several copies and experimented with ink. After four tries, I finally settled on just a few touches of ink here and there. I wanted to keep the fresh, simple feel of the painting. I’ll be posting the completed painting–after I take a few more pics of it without the ink. I want to have one good digital copy for later use. Thank you for your comments.
So pretty! The range of color in the pink and yellow is terrific!
Thank you, Cindy. Adding the two yellow tulips was an after thought, and I’m glad I did. I find pinks and yellows easy colors to work with. Blues and greens, not so much!
Worth the wait!
Thank you, sissy. Now onto the inking. I’m nervous….
Lovely and vibrant and just beautiful! You’ve made tulips one of my favourite flowers now with your little series! 😀
They are easy to paint, too. Hint, hint. Thanks, Shree.
Beautiful – love the vibrancy of the tulips. Looking forward to seeing the finished product 🙂
Thanks, Caitie. I’ll be posting it soon.
Phenomenal color Jill!
Thanks, Elena. I used several of my faves: permanent rose, turquoise, green gold, and sap green.
Lovely, Jill!
Thank you, Francesca!
Beautiful colour combination!
Thanks, Jennifer.
Thanks, Jennifer!

Thank you, Jess. Watercolor painting is a lot of fun. Give it a try!
