And our lovely girl, Luna, who is 14 years old. The first photos taken with our new camera–a Christmas gift my daughter and I gave to each other. I can’t wait to learn how to use it.
There’s nothing my daughter loves more than spending time at the barn with her beloved horses. So I thought I’d share some photos of Thanksgiving at the farm. Simple pleasures are the best. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

What a wonderful way to spend the day. It’s easy to see why my daughter spends so much time here.

Saturday was a perfect day for a cruise down the Potomac River. Everyone had a great time, including Steve, our little Yorkie. He looked so cute with his life vest and Doggles, which he wears to keep the wind out of his eyes. He is one cool dude!
So I’m doing laundry this morning and Pig, in a customary move, dove right into the warm, fresh laundry and settled in for a nap (note the green stuffed animal that he’s using as a pillow; that boy loves his toys). He especially loves finding an occasional Bounce dryer sheet in the pile. He’ll root it out of the stack then rub his back all over it. I appreciate the fresh smell that lingers on him.

Have you ever wondered what your pets do when you’re not home? Here’s my little Corgi mix, Marty (aka “Piggy” because of his curly tail), enjoying a good book on my living room couch. Interesting reading list. Is that a drink on my couch?
This beautiful, shy girl is Luna, a Labrador mix. I couldn’t resist colorizing her in Photoshop. I love the blue and purple eyes.
Nothing better than taking a break from painting to take in this view. I designed this patio, and my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, niece, daughter, and I did all the heavy digging, lifting, placing of bricks, and planting. It was lots of work performed twice a year–spring and fall–over the past three years but the results have been well worth the effort. It’s fun watching my five dogs play or just mill around the garden while I cook or paint. Plus it makes for some awesome photo ops of my dogs (more on that later).
