Saturday was a perfect day for a cruise down the Potomac River. Everyone had a great time, including Steve, our little Yorkie. He looked so cute with his life vest and Doggles, which he wears to keep the wind out of his eyes. He is one cool dude!

My old kitchen appliances were barely functional, so I finally replaced them this weekend. I like the look of stainless steel, but not the fingerprints. I’m also considering replacing my porcelain sink with a stainless steel sink, but I’m still undecided. Should I go for it or stick with what I have?
Painting is still underway at my house for my upcoming Tangerine Tango tour. It’s been a lot of work–and a lot of fun. I’m still assembling items in a variety of shades of tangerine to splash around my house. Here’s another sneak preview. This outdoor dinnerware was too colorful to resist:

Remember how exciting it was when you got your hands on your first box of 64 count Crayola crayons–the one with the sharpener in the back? The possibilities were endless. Well I’m just as excited about my new set of 150 Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. I’ve been wanting this set forever but at $250.00, the cost was exorbitant. You can purchase this set online at www.dickblick.com for $133.00. That’s nearly half the normal price, so I pounced on it. I see lots of colorful projects in my future.

My daughter’s daffodils–completed during our Memorial Day family watercolor fest. I love everything about this painting: the sunny yellow, the vibrant orange offset with it’s complementary color blue, the blue shading in the leaves, and the textures on the centers of the flowers. My mom’s third watercolor painting–completed during our Memorial Day family watercolor fest. This painting was a little more challenging for her due to the small size of the blooms, but she stuck with it–after a brief hiatus–and she ended up with a successful painting. Way to go, mom.
